Cruise day 28 – PP

Morning weigh-in: 104.5

  • Daily lost -0.3kg/-0.66lbs
  • Total lost 7.8kg/17.16lbs

Watercheck – 1.5l by 23.41pm

Breakfast

  • 2x microwaved eggs
  • oatbran porridge
  • cup of tea

Morning snack

  • cup of tea
  • 2x chocolate oatbran muffins – omg devine! How has it been this long before I tried making these?! Next time, will make with a little more sweetener and perhaps a little LESS raw cocoa, but they should be a welcome addition to any Dukaneer’s diet! Must remember to lower the oatbran content of my porridge accordingly, so that I can indulge in two of these each day – the recipe linked to above made 12 small muffins, so two muffins contain 1/3rd of my daily oatbran allowance.  If I have two per day, I need to make my three-day batches of porridge with 4 tablespoons of oatbran instead of 6.  Not a huge sacrifice! 🙂

Lunch

  • 3 slices of ham
  • 3 slices of pastrami
  • 1 chicken breast (all three bought from Tesco on my way in)

Afternoon snack

  • fat-free yoghurt with canderel

Dinner

  • Turkey steak parcels with quark, seeded mustard and red pesto

Exercise

  • 30 minute walk to work
  • 30 minute walk home

There it is – the 5 day jump in weight that has become habit. I think I need to do further statistical analysis on my spreadsheet, integrating grams of protein, carbs and fat (my iPhone app, ShapeUp, can record all this automatically, I’m not counting deliberately, I swear!) and exercise, and seeing how this affects the weightloss every day.

The two things I’m NOT religiously recording on this diet are:

a) salt intake, and
b) how to put this delicately – bowel movements.

WARNING – it gets a little icky from here on:

Apologies for sharing, but I don’t have a … movement… every day. In fact, I might end up only having one every 5 days (It certainly wasn’t till at LEAST day 4 of the attack that I pooed for the first time on this diet.)

This concerned me at first, but then I read that, in fact, the reason that I’m not pooing much is because there’s nothing there to poo.  Most of what I’m eating is being absorbed and turned into energy, apparently.  Dr Dukan says not to be concerned about this, except when there’s obviously… something there… but it’s not coming out readily.

I wonder how my 5 day cycle plays into this? Perhaps, somewhere private, I’ll start recording what’s happening down there, and if I have any interesting correlations, I’ll think about sharing further… 😉

One last comment: how has it been this long before I tried making the chocolate oatbran muffins?! Next time, will make with a little more sweetener and perhaps a little LESS raw cocoa, but they should be a welcome addition to any Dukaneer’s diet, especially if you’re missing pastries! 🙂

  1. Coincidence? We’ve just discovered the muffins today too — try dipping them in yogurt!

    Jings; what a diet!

Do try the Miracle Soup — absolutely superb, and totally makes cruise days wonderful — you can have three proper courses — soup, main and cheesecake!

Have you tried Quorn High Protein Sausages from Tesco? Grilled a couple, fried egg and a galette cut into a triangle (tattie scone style), and you have a pukkah Scottish Breakfast!
