Breakfast

  • Totally bitchin low-fat caesar salad with chicken.  *drool* I made it with two heads of romaine lettuce, and now am feeling totally full…
  • Cup of green oolong tea

Afternoon snack

  • Muller light vanilla

Dinner

  • Stuffed roast capsicums, adapted from Gentlemonkey’s recipe but with extras like cumin, and Worcestershire sauce instead of soy.
  • fat free yoghurt with candarel and half a teaspoon of cocoa – yoghurt & cocoa, I think we’re onto a winner here… 😉

Exercise

  • Just the normal 25 minutes cycling for my daily work commute, and a 30 minute brisk walk around the Meadows.

I don’t know whether it was as a result of the last three day’s inadvertent mini-attack (ie protein only) or whether it was just really warm in the office, but I was SO lethargic this afternoon at work. Zzzzzz… Maybe it’s because I’ve replaced normal black tea with Green tea?

My lovely Tovolo Tea Infuser

These past couple of days I’ve been drinking about a litre of Chinese Oolong Tea – my favorite green tea – per day.  Dave reminded me of it in a blog comment a few days ago, and I also remembered that during my year in China, a Chinese friend had recommended this particular tea as being good for raising one’s basal metabolic rate.  I can highly recommend it to anyone, not just Dukaneers, for its reputedly healthy properties.  I get mine from Pekoe Tea – an excellent mail order supplier – and I swear by the Ti Kuan Yin Oolong.  The guy who runs the online store has always been very happy to include small samples of other teas with an order, so that you can try out different things.

The other thing I love about Oolong is that it just keeps going all day – one tiny pinch of tea in my lovely Tovolo tea infuser (shown in the picture here) will do me the whole litre of tea, and it’s just as refreshing cold as it is hot.

So I went from being totally energy-less this afternoon, to having a bouncy spring in my step for my after-dinner 30 minute walk.  The air was so soft and warm, and there was a FULL rainbow arcing over the Meadows as I walked through.  Then as I was coming home, the sun was setting and the sky was all a-blaze with oranges and purples.  SUCH a beautiful evening.  If I had’ve had the right bra on, I could easily have jogged for a ways.  Note to self, get decent sports bra! 😉

    nice one charlotte. u sound very upbeat and focussed. good stuff. i know wot you mean about a lovely evening. makes such a difference in how we feel. i used to walk for my source of exercise cos my knees are shot to bits and i suffer from back probs, but d’ya know wot – just like you – out for a walk one morning and just had to jog. jog .. jog.. jog. wow. thats me back into it now. if i feel sluggish i will walk, but with the weight loss (2st 9lbs total) – its no probs to jog. get your bra sorted and go girl!! AND any aches and pains i did have have eased a hell of alot especially my back (i think my knees are beyond repair thanks to the army but hey!!). have another good day today mate – although the weather looks crap compared to yesterday! take care…….x JO
