Afternoon tea/2nd lunch

  • 2 Beef burger patties

  • Du Lac beef stirfry with veggies – inspired by the recipe in the Dukan Diet book, recommended by commenter Miss VodkaTonic – thanks! 🙂
  • Devine Dukan Cheesecake – as it shall henceforth be known.  Many thanks to Ruth and Dave for this recipe! (I used the juice of a whole lemon and all the zest, along with just a tablespoon of Splenda – perhaps a bit too lemony. Next time will try with half as much lemon)

  • 25 minute walk around the Meadows – it started raining and I had no waterproofs, so I took a shortcut home…

Wow, there’s the whoosh – .6kg loss brings me down into the 100s.  Looking back over my historical weight spreadsheet (it goes back to 1998!) this is the least I’ve weighed in since some time between August 2005 and April 2006.  My next major milestone will be getting below 89.4, which is where I was in April 2005, when my last major healthkick ended with a nosedive, an injured ankle from overdoing the exercise, and a move from Australia to Edinburgh.  I put on 15kg in that period between August 2005 and April 2006. After that, there were ups and downs, but the overwhelming trend was UP!

But no more.  It’s funny, looking at my spreadsheet, the almost-nine-weeks I’ve been on this diet seem so insignificant a period in the context of 12 years of weight fluctuation.  But they’re pretty significant to me!

My beef stirfry was pretty good this evening – even J approved.  Using rump steak rather than “stirfry beef” is definitely the key – the meat was so lovely and tender!  Recipe incoming…
