Morning weigh-in: 98.0

  • Daily LOSS 0.1kg/0.22lbs
  • Total lost 14.3kg/31.46lbs

Watercheck – 1.4l by 18.00pm


  • oatbran porridge
  • 2x microwave eggs
  • cup of tea


  • 1/2 packet of tesco chicken breast with salt & pepper
  • Mini babybel light


  • 1 small chicken breast


  • 3 hours hillwalking south of Edinburgh
  • 3 hours standing in the kitchen, cooking up a storm!

OMG I’m knackered now.  Not only did I spend 3 hours hillwalking around Edinburgh today, but I also just spent about 3-4 hours chopping, cooking and storing two LARGE soup pots – one full of chicken vegetable soup, and one full of lean beef bolognese sauce.  Enough of both to help us survive a siege for at least 2 weeks.  I’ve been on my feet all that time – so I’m counting that as exercise, albeit not too strenuous! 😉

As for the results on the scales this morning – I’m cool with that.  I’m still atoning for my sins on Friday, so I’ll accept just a minor loss.

    I’m just starting out on the Dukan diet – day 19 and 10lbs lost so far – and I just wanted to say what an inspiration you are! I’ve got quite a way to go til I reach my true weight, but it’s encouraging to see through your acheivements, that it’s worth sticking with the diet.

    I’ve been blogging about my experience too, at, it would be great if you could stop by sometime.

      Actually, I wasn’t hungry at all! I was careful to have plenty of protein only before the big hill walking exercise, and I didn’t really feel hungry until 10 o’clock at night! Go Protein! 🙂

    Hill walking?! You’re so motivated! I want to start doing that a couple of ties a week too I think. I should make sure I walk hills 5 times this week for yesterday’s sugar and carb-fest!


    • It was only gentle hillwalking, to be fair. And we had a goal in mind – we were treasure hunting for mushrooms. Special mushrooms, if you ken what I mean? 😉

      It’s such a fun activity (though I don’t take them, myself – we were picking with a friend) I didn’t even realise how much time had passed until we were heading back to the car, and my legs were aching…

      Here’s my oatbran porridge recipe:

      2tbsp oatbran
      150ml milk
      pinch of salt
      sweetener to taste.

      I make it in 3 day batches, so the oatbran/milk mix is more like:

      6tbsp oatbran
      450ml skimmed milk

      Combine everything, stick over the stove in a saucepan on high heat, stir until boiling. Turn down heat and continue to stir for a while longer, till it thickens a little. Add sweetener to taste. Divide into tupperware containers while still hot and easily pourable. The mix will continue to thicken over the next couple of days, don’t worry if it’s a bit runny (though it shouldn’t be watery)

      I went out and bought 3 lovely small tupperware containers, 180 ml each – just perfect for a serving of OB Porridge.
