I’m back into this diet with a vengeance today.  I’m feeling incredibly motivated, and I simply can’t WAIT to get back to where I was before I had guests to stay.

Cycling into work today was really quite pleasant – the Pope visited Edinburgh today and a whole stack of roads were closed for security purposes. It would appear that most people either decided to stay at home, or cycle/walk to work.  The roads were quiet (apart from all the extra bikes!) and much less stressful than usual.

My walk today was a bit of a marathon – my first full length walk with the new Shapeups sneakers.  God did my leg muscles hurt by the end of it.  They do make you work, but one thing that’s annoying me a bit is the fact that unless I really concentrate, my arches (which already tend to be flattish) collapse right in.  I have to concentrate on keeping my arches raised, which has made my feet sore, in a muscular way rather than a skin way, if that makes sense.  I’ll keep on using the Shapeups for a while, and see how I go – they were too expensive not to persevere with!

I’m not sure if I’ll see a loss tomorrow morning – there’s still a lot of carbs to work out of my body from my past few days’ transgressions, and when I tallied up all the liquid I drank today, it came out to over 3 litres! Who knows what my body will do with all that…  However, as always I remain your philosophical correspondent, not to be discouraged by oh-so-predictable results which are my own fault anyway… 😉
