Cruise day 103 – PV

Morning weigh-in: 91.3kgs

  • Daily LOSS 0.4kgs / 0.88lbs
  • Total lost 21.0kg/46.2lbs

Watercheck –1.9l

Brunch

  • Full cooked “anniversary” breakfast with scrambled eggs, lean beef sausages, grilled lean bacon, tomatoes and some cheeky naughty vegetarian haggis.

Dinner

  • Chicken caesar salad with home made low-fat dressing (no bacon or croutons, but with a poached egg on top)
  • Small glass of red wine (it is our anniversary, after all)
  • Caramel pudding (same as the chocolate stuff last night) x2 – oops!
  • Ham crisp

While-cooking snack

Leftover naughty vegetarian haggis from breakfast – my terrible weakness – I love vegetarian haggis.  It’s chock full of starchy pulses & beans, and possibly nuts as well, but I love it.

Exercise

  • 40 mins cycling around town

So I have decided that, in order to make things easier for cooking and allowing for leftovers, I’m going to switch to a PPx2:PVx2 rhythm for a while, and see how that pans out.  Dukan reckons that it doesn’t really make much difference in the long run, so long as you’re consistent with it, so I’m gonna give it a go.  It does mean that my spreadsheet will be all the more essential, as it’ll help remind me where in the cycle I am.

So I’ve decided that with the yumminess of these Danone puddings (Pearly, they’re called Shapers or something, and they’re sensational, though they do have a little added sugar) it’s time to learn how to do the whole custard thing, and see if I can make these puds myself with sweetener only, no sugar.  I slaved over a hot stove tonight to create the custard (using Dukan-approved Birds custard) with added cocoa, but we’ll have to see how it goes – I split them into tiny tupperware pots and they’re in the fridge now, setting their little custardy hearts out. I think perhaps a little more custard powder is needed to make them as thick and yummy as the Shapers puds…

Probably too many carbs today, and I didn’t get the chance to do any more exercise than a cycle across town to meet a Man with Van to help us move a couch from a friend’s (the one who’s moving to San Francisco.)  But I shall soldier on – I’ve got two days of PP coming up, so that’ll help.

    • V Yummy, but not altogether Dukan friendly – they have real sugar as well as sweetener in them! 😦

So today I tried my hand at chocolate custard using Birds and Candarel – it turned out ok!
