OK, so curry’s not altogether good, but I had the most Dukan friendly curry I could find. The chicken tikka kebabs were right on target, and I didn’t have much Rogan Josh. The saag was delish, but I didn’t have much of that either, so I think it was ok. It was a bit of a celebration for J – he just started a new job last week, so it was a “yay I survived the first week” kinda meal. He had rice and naan, but I didn’t.
Now. The other thing that my low-carbing work colleague introduced to me today was something that I may come to wish I never learned. The Microwave Cheese Crisp.
Basically you take a slice of cheese, melt it on a ceramic plate in the microwave until it’s starting to go brown around the edges and towards the middle, and then you separate it from the plate with a knife, allow to cool and hey presto! A crispy, crunch, full-o-flavour low carb high protein (and a little lower fat than before it was melted) snack. See, there’s usually a bit of oil left on the plate after you separate the cheese, which to me says “reduced fat.” Possibly not as reduced as Dukan recommends, but if you REALLY need something crunchy and the meat crisps aren’t doing it for you (they don’t really do it for me) then one of these every now and then might help.

No, really! If you mop away the fat as they’re cooking, all you seem to be left with is dried protein and salt! Seriously the tastiest thing you’ve ever had! I did manage to break TWO ceramic plates in the microwave yesterday, so perhaps it might be better to use a pyrex baking dish, which doesn’t get anywhere near as hot.

The cheese crisp sounds yummy – I want one right now!
Also all the curry stuff sounds good. I really like curry – unfortunately I like the naans as well.
Have a good day Charlotte.

Yeah, I like the naans as well, but it was enough of an indulgence just to have the curry… 😉
