  • Daily GAIN– 0.2kgs / 0.44lbs.
  • Total lost 22.4kg/ 49.28lbs

Watercheck – 0.8l including coffee & water.

Breakfast

  • Oatbran porridge
  • 2x microwaved eggs
  • Mug of coffee with sweetener

Morning snack

  • mug of coffee with sweetener

Lunch

  • Chicken fajita nuggets using thigh meat (with all the fat grilled off)
  • Dukan friendly chocolate custard pudding

Dinner

  • Leftover spicy taco mince using lean beef, with a tablespoon of salsa and a tablespoon of fat free fromage frais

Exercise

  • 50 mins walking to and from work, at top speeds

I can’t believe it. After a (mostly) good day yesterday, with all the bad bits made up by more than TWO HOURS of aerobic exercise (even walking in Edinburgh is good exercise, what with all these hills) I’m STILL up on the scales this morning.

I have a theory though.  About a week ago, I stopped taking the Pill, for unrelated health reasons.  I’ve not had a period for more than a year, on this particular pill, which has been wonderful.  But every time I’ve stopped taking this particular one, I get the MOTHER of all periods.  Periods are always preceded by a few days of water retention, so perhaps this is my body getting ready for a big uteral purge? 😉 (we’re all friends here, I can say that can’t I?)

Who knows.  Suffice it to say that I’m getting pretty frustrated with everything about this diet.  It’s easy to follow when you’re getting the payoff every morning on the scales, but much harder when all you get is a bruise on your head from that brick wall you’re banging it against.  I know.  I’ve been having too much fat, and I did go through a period a few weeks ago of eating utter junk and total non-Dukan food, but my weight curve is looking decidedly “L” shaped right now.

Enough moaning though.  One huge benefit of sharing my progress with friends, family and total strangers through this blog is that there is very little opportunity to give up – as I’ve said before: you, dear reader, make me accountable!  So thankyou for that…

And now it’s time for bed! 🙂

The gain is 200g — that’s so negligible! It’s nothing but a cuppa or a pee, forget it. Dukan;s regime cruise phase is about weight loss — some ups and mostly some downs, and of course the occasional plateaux. You could weigh weekly, monthly or daily, but it makes scant difference, you are losing weight — sometimes behind the scenes. The body moves weight in mysterious ways (was it Bono who sang that?). Don’t sweat that stuff, just stick with the program.

You quite naturally start to think: too much salt, the pill, the clocks changing. You think you’re to blame; that you’re doing something wrong. Stop THAT

Fact is you have been shifting a lot of weight in a short time. You have false ceilings, but y’know, there is a biological aspect here too — your bod craves survival, hates the months of weight loss and is fighting against what you are doing.

The situation is mental. If you win, your bod loses, and you continue on to meet your goals. It needs psychological strength right now. You need support for that.

This is one of those crunch times — one of those moments that separate the men from the boys (as they say), if you catch our drift, stick with it, wait it out. This is a FAT-hostage situation.
    take care

Just noticed that red wine and internets don’t mix (hic!).

Please don’t change anything, just stick with it, and all will be well. At the end of the day Dukan is all about the mind, and we reckon you’re finding that out right now.

  5. Stick with it hun, I know it gets frustrating at times, but it will be worth it in the end. I’m sure the very slight gain is down to the reasons you suspect and hopefully the scales will start moving in the right direction again soon. xx
