So I caved to the sugar today.  DagNAMMIT! J was back at work, but I still had one last day off, so I was home on my own. Bad bad BAD! But I’m not beating myself up over it, and I ensured that the time I spent on the cross trainer more than made up for at least the calories involved in those Lindt balls  – not that we’re counting calories, but the exercise must count for something, surely? 😉  Actually, in spite of the Lindt balls and the two diet gin and tonics (or, should I say, gin and diet tonic!) I feel like I had a pretty good day – I did eat an AWFUL lot of meat, but by god it was good, and once I had my meat box in front of me, I was free of choccie cravings! I was really only drinking out of politeness, honest – one of my best mates came over and we watched Whip It – and now I’m determined to get me a pair of roller skates and join the Edinburgh Roller Derby league!! 😉 It’s something that I’ve been hearing more and more about it, and I’d already made the decision to go to their Fresh Meat Sunday, but the film just made me even more excited about the game!!

In other news, J starts on Dukan tomorrow, and we just had a lovely 20 minutes packaging up Tupperware containers of this and that for tomorrow.  It’s so cute, we have His’n’Hers boxes of rolled up ham and pastrami slices, he has some unleavened oatbran hard-cake things with a wee box of quark-and-spice mix, I have my yoghurt tupperware pot, my eggs all padded in their own perfect container, and my pre-cooked porridge ready for nuking tomorrow morning.

The unleavened oatbran cake things are a bit of an experiment for making pizza bases from yesterday – basically a large sized savoury oatbran pancake, cooked in the pan first and then baked at a high temperature in the oven for at least 40 mins.  They came out with crispy edges, but slightly tough still in the middle.  We’ll be trying out our own version of Dukan pizzas when we start Cruise on the weekend – I’ll let you know how it goes, and if it goes well, then I’ll put together a basic recipe for it. 🙂
