Day 213 – fifth day of attack

Morning weigh-in 93.4kgs

  • Daily GAIN 0.4kgs/ 0.88lbs
  • Total lost 18.9kg/ 41.58lbs

Watercheck – 2.4l (incl tea, coffee, water and caffeine free diet coke)

Breakfast

  • Oatbran Porridge
  • 2x microwaved eggs
  • Mug of tea

Morning snack

  • 3 slices pastrami
  • 4 slices lean ham

Lunch

  • Leftover savoury mince with fat free fromage frais

Afternoon snack

  • Mug of coffee
  • Fat free yoghurt with sweetener and orange essence

Dinner

  • Salmon fillets grilled on the George

Late snack

  • 1 chocolate oatbran muffin, fresh out of the oven. I did three of the nine muffins with orange essence, can’t wait to see how THAT turns out!

Exercise

  • 25 mins cycling to and from work
  • 45 mins on cross trainer
  • 15 mins brisk walking to and from gym

Oooh, today was hard.  I was sorely tempted by the mince pies at work.  And the chocolates at work.  Especially when my workmates all crowded around the (very full) tin of Quality Streets and started discussing the relative merits of each flavour, while I whimpered at my desk.  Attack is haaaaaarrrrd.  I allowed myself to open the tin, stick my nose up close, and get a good whiff.

I did not allow myself to have one though.

Then later on this evening, just back from the gym, I ate my grilled salmon.  It wasn’t enough, I was still hungry.  I eyed off the tub of chocolate in our kitchen.  Loads of leftover Christmas choccies – I’m actually a little light headed just thinking about them right now.

I have a plan though.  I’m going to make chocolate oatbran muffins.  But it’s going to be a fair ol’ palaver, I suspect.  J is out at the store right now, looking for baking powder.  They didn’t have any at the first store he tried, and if there is none at the next one, then I’m going to jump on my bike and get some from the late night Tesco across the Meadows.

Yes, it’s that important.  I’m feeling my resolve crumbling, and cooking Dukan Friendly Muffins is the only thing saving me from having a chocolate from that tub.

**10 minutes later**

Chocolate oatbran muffins are now in the oven.  My man, my lovely, handsome, strong manly man, just went to THREE different stores for baking powder, bless him.  And returned triumphant, not only with baking powder but with EGGS!  He’s doin’ the Dukan well…

And? I defeated the chocolate monster.

  1. Congratulations on your triumph over that monster! For a fairer battle next time, get rid of any tentacles it may have left in your environment. They each regenerate into the monster!…in short get rid of any leftover chocs!
