Day 217 – Cruise (PP)

Morning weigh-in 92.8kgs

  • Daily GAIN 1.9kgs/ 4.18lbs
  • Total lost 19.5kg/ 42.9lbs

Watercheck – 1.8l

Breakfast

  • Oatbran Porridge
  • 2x microwaved eggs
  • Mug of tea

Lunch

  • 4x chicken thigh fillets

Afternoon snack

  • Mug of coffee

Afternoon disaster

  • 4 Quality Street chocolates
  • 2 mince pies

Dinner

  • Sirloin steak with a red wine reduction sauce

Exercise

  • 25 mins to and from work on bike

A massive jump up on the scales today – due to being a vege day yesterday, plus the sleepins over the weekend make for a lower weekend weigh-in, which raises any weekday weigh in.

I didn’t feel so good yesterday after the chocolate and mince pies.  In fact, you could say that I suffered from a major sugar crash.  I got shaky, dizzy and altogether not well.  And although I enjoyed the first chocolate immensely, the subsequent ones weren’t that nice, but my sugar starved body kept wanting another and another, just in case the NEXT one might give me the same kind of pleasure as that first one.

Apparently this is what happens to heroin addicts – it’s called “chasing the dragon” – they’re always subconsciously (or perhaps consciously) hoping that the next hit will be as good as that first one – though it never is.

Having said all this, the sirloin steak in a red wine reduction sauce was… omg it was incredible. Best sauce ever. I may have used more than the tolerated 4 tablespoons, but it made a good three servings.  Recipe incoming, with the understanding that it’s not strictly Dukan… 😉

    Charlotte,

    Love your blog, read everyday!

LOL at your ‘Chasing the Dragon’ as just had second glass of wine & not as nice as the first !

I HAVE factored two glasses of wine into tonight’s meal ( Cruising – Chicken in bacon with lots of veg)

Been on Dukan (Not a diet its a way of life) since last summer & losing weight slowly but surely… which I am happy about.

So keep up the good work in keeping us all focused & any new recipes are always helpful !

    Thanks for being there

    Hi Charlotte
My downfall is Quality Street – the only way I can see to beat the carb craving is just to not have any around. Mind you I am talking to myself here as I have some Thornton toffees in my fridge just calling my name. sigh………….It was easier at the beginning when I had loads to lose.
    Oh well………….
Steak in wine sauce sounds lovely. Enjoying reading your blog,
    xxxx

    • Sorry, sorry! I’m still here! My blog has been breathing down my neck. I’ve been meaning to update for the past few days, but the thought of updating a few day’s worth is getting me down… I’ll cut my losses, start again from yesterday, and keep today updated, I promise! 🙂
