Not happy this morning.  My sore tooth is causing me hassles. It’s a little better today than yesterday, but it seems to be worse and more throbbing when my heart rate is up – it felt like there was a little pump in my jaw as I was cycling in this morning going up the Big Hill.  I’m still very keen to get my walk in this evening, and some heavy lifting in at the gym on my way home from the walk, but I’m not looking forward to the throbbing toothache. I’ve got an emergency dentist appt to try and sort out the problem.

On a positive note, the sun is shining, the day is mild (for this time of year) and sunset is approaching 5pm.

**LATER**

Right, so you’re wondering about the not altogether perfect dinner.  Trust me, it could have been so much worse.  Remember I mentioned that J was going to London for work today, so I’ve been home alone.  Usually, solitude is my trigger to go eat bad stuff, cause I can binge away and hide my guilt.

I knew that tonight was going to be hard.

I went and wandered around the supermarket for something for dinner.  I cruised past the pizzas, picked them up, looked at the carb content, carried one around the store for a while, and then returned to the freezer and replaced it with a lower carb pizza.  Then I replaced that with a lower carb frozen meal.  I later replaced that in my basket with a chicken kiev.  On and on it went, me talking myself in from the Carb Ledge, until I finally had some Shapers chocolate puds and a packet of gluten free sausages – my dinner.

I made up for it though, by drinking a bucket of cosmopolitan.  Eeek!

I also didn’t get to the gym.  The weather out there is just awful right now.  Blustery and windy and simply horrid.  Much better to stay here with my cosmo and snuggle up with some Nathan Fillion on the latest ep of Castle.  Mmmm, I love my Captain Reynolds… (any fans out there? What about that kiss!? Phwoar!!)

  1. I’m very proud of you for returning that pizza but lady… you really need to remove all alcohol from your house !!! Before starting on the Dukan, I used to drink a lot of beer, I would go out with my friends 3-4 times a week and on the other days I would usually have one or two at home after work so I do know how good it feels to relax with your favorite drink in hand after a long day. But at this moment, we just can’t because it ruins the whole day results diet-wise !

At the moment, mini-donuts are my biggest problem. Since they are just “mini”, I get easily tempted but they do come in pack of eight and that does not make it a “mini” anything. Had a good Sunday and Monday but got sick yesterday and went off track (mini-donuts, chips and a turkish pizza). So far, I’m back on track today and I plan to keep it that way 🙂

Good luck to us both, we need it !

    • Meh, alcohol’s really not the problem (if you don’t count the hangover the next day – uuuuggggghhhhnnngggggghhh) – the big problem is what I might have instead of the alcohol. I don’t drink high carb booze like beer, only white spirits generally, and no-added-sugar cranberry.

  2. Did you do it??! I didn’t go for a walk but I have done half an hour on the wii which I think must be just as good if not better than half an hour walking. I feel so good that I may just treat myself to n extra big helping of the dukan chocolate mousse I have in the fridge right now! x
