Day 241 – Cruise PP

Morning weigh-in 94.2kgs

  • Daily GAIN 2.0kg/ 4.4lbs – huh?
  • Total lost 18.1kg/ 39.82lbs

Watercheck –2.1l

Morning snack

  • 2 microwaved eggs
  • Mug of tea

Morning disaster

  • a chocolate cookie given to me by a workmate.  Oh NOES!!

  • Chicken breast mini fillets grilled with Nando’s seasoning
  • 5 grilled bacon medallions (fat free!)

Afternoon snack

  • Shapers chocolate pud x1

  • Rump steak with red wine sauce
  • Shapers pud x2

  • 25 cycling to and from work
  • 40 mins walk up around the Craigs at lunch in driving wind – fun!

What a good night’s sleep! But having said that, either my scales’ batteries are running out, or there’s something weird going on with my body – up 2 KILOS from yesterday?! Or perhaps it’s all the hangover cure junk food from yesterday and the keg of cosmos from the day before…? I suspect the latter.  Last thought is perhaps it’s the antibiotics causing water retention, though there’s not much indication of that through any internet searches.  All the same, new batteries are in order for my poor scales.

Anyway, feeling much better today – bright and chirpy, though slightly disbelievingly indignant at the alarm clock when it went off this morning.

Did I mention that I’m never drinking again?  For some reason, J doesn’t believe me (funny that) even though I’ve volunteered to be designated driver this weekend when we go see a friend’s new home across the water.

In deference to my promise to Holly, I got out at lunchtime and went for a lovely big walk up around the bottom bits of Arthur’s Seat, and was rewarded for my journey by a sudden, fabulous view of snow on the Pentlands.

I love snow, as long as it’s not where I have to walk or drive through it.  The photo looks dreary and dreich, but it really was a lovely, bracing walk on a bright but cloudy day.  Spring is definitely on its way, despite the snow that hit us this morning.  More rain on its way tomorrow (like, a torrential downpour all day) but my spirits are still high!

Having said all that, I’m not entirely sure where the impetus came from to eat the cookie this morning.  It was put in front of me and my brain just kinda clicked into autodrive.

It’s an issue.

    • I think that’s a truly FANTASTIC idea, Jo! In fact, let’s go up there and have a DD Friendly Picnic – there’re plenty of nicely sheltered vales up there with amazing views. My one request though – that we don’t try to go DOWN the steep side… Happy to go up the steep side if you guys want, but I hate going down it! 😉
