Ugh.  Stupid period, making me put on weight.  I know exactly what’s going on, that it’s normal for this time of month.  In fact, I’ve been checking my weight on the first day of my period for the past 2 months (ie since I started having regular cycles again after going off the Pill) and it has spiked like clockwork.  Then the next day it’s still at the same level, tails off a little bit on Day Three, and then two major days of whooshes on Days Four and Five.  TMI? Sorry. .. 😉

But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – this blog is more for me than for you, dear reader, though you’re very welcome here.

I was planning on walking when I got home tonight, but I got caught up in a work call and by the time that was done, it was too dark out.  Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment after work, so it may not be till Saturday that I get a proper walk.

  1. Guys… yes, it can be done! Stick with it, hang in there. It works.

    We’ll be leaving “consolidation” and starting “Stabilisation” next month. Woooo-hooo! Just one month to go! Six months of consolidation, six black bin-bags of clothes each to the charity, a million steaks, a billion Activia Vanilla fat Frees, and a zillion chickens later…!

    We have changed so much; a sandwich is not a “reward” nor a “treat”, we just do not miss cakes and rice and spaghetti and bread. We find sweets are too sweet. We don’t have to de-construct the menu when ordering food any-more, but we still do it because we are more demanding.

    We are not Dukan saints; our main transgressions are wine and (inexplicably) real ales!

    We are considering buying MSG from one of the massive Chinese supermarkets in Glasgow. Seriously. And we’re considering doing the diet again, just to drop two or three kilos for summer. Who knows we may even do a little exercise this time round!

    MSG: I love the stuff. I have a pack of it from our local world foods supermarket. Another thing that you might enjoy is called Aromat. It comes in a small yellow tin with a red cap. Fully laden with MSG and savoury spices, though it’s not very easy to get hold of. Here’s a link:

    I can get it in Tescos – sometimes – but every now and then it just seems to be ungettable from anywhere.

    Congrats on moving into Stabilisation! So proud of you guys – you’re an inspiration to us all. 🙂

    Hey sweetie,

    Just spent another enjoyable 20 mins catching up on your blog. You are doing so well keep it up! Wish I was still there so I could come on walks with you at lunch – I think these really are the way to go as a) escape office for a while and b) you get them in when it is daylight. Was so funny when reading your ‘think about the calories’ comment – I was like oh I say that and then continued reading about your Edinburgher turned San Franciscan friend and then I was like oh, I think she means me!

    I am upping the excercise too at this end starting doing a whole host of excercise classes from tomorrow – need to cheer myself up as Dad been told not allowed to fly till June so Mammy and Daddy Ryce not coming on Monday now as planned 😦

    Looking forward to seeing you in October – thinking lunch with Lisa on Friday 21st October at P Express – yes I know you will have to cheat!
