Day 261 – Cruise PP

  • 25 min cycle to and from work

Energy levels were super SUPER low today.  The biggest hill on my cycle home, which runs at a gruelling angle, I usually tackle in 5th gear on my bike, relatively comfortably.  Today, it was all I could do to do it in 1st gear.  I’ll be crawling into bed as soon as I finish this entry.

I nearly had a good day food wise, apart from those Jaffa Cakes.  Also, Ros’s post got me thinking about how much Diet Coke I drink – a lot.  And as she points out, it’s all chemicals, hardly anything that could be construed as natural – it was just so easy to get the liquid my body needed by chugging down the Diet Coke.  I’ve made a commitment to myself to try and steer clear of it for a while and see what happens – I’ve had two cups of tea and the rest of my watercheck today is just that – water.  There’s no doubt that I drink slower when it’s not tasty Diet Coke (but really, how tasty is it? Do I drink it because it’s tasty or merely because it has taste?) but I’m still getting the requisite amount of water in my system.

Right, anyway.  Enough rambling.  I’ve been in bed after midnight every night this week, and not getting enough sleep can hinder weight loss.  I feel like I’m running myself ragged… So.  More sleep, more exercise, and no more Jaffa Cakes!

  1. Thanks for joining me on the NO diet coke challenge Charlotte – good luck! I was speaking to my dentist about teeth whitening and he says that if I am drinking diet coke – it would be a waste of money cause they will just become discoloured again – food for thought!! Sleep well Cheers Ros
