Day 276 – Cruise PP

Morning weigh-in: 93.2kg

  • Daily LOSS 1.0kgs / 2.2lbs
  • Total lost 19.1kg/42.02lbs

Watercheck – 2.3l by 23.00 – 1 cup of tea, the rest tapwater


  • 2x microwaved egg
  • oatbran porridge
  • cup of tea

Morning snack

  • 3x slices of ham
  • 1 mini babybel light


  • 2 chicken breasts with fajita seasoning
  • a SMALL glass of cava to celebrate a workmate’s birthday

Afternoon snack

  • Microwaved egg
  • Vanilla fat free activia yoghurt (later on, after getting home)


  • Low fat spicy pork burgers (delish!)


  • 25 min cycle to and from work with a few detours for running errands
  • 20 min walk around the Meadows (brr!)

So, today I had a big challenge.  There was birthday cake in the office.  Big, juicy, chocolatey birthday cake.  I somehow ended up being the person cutting it up and handing it out, and I’ll admit, I was sorely tempted to have some.  As we were cleaning up, a large gob of chocolate icing got on my finger (by accident, I swear!) and it somehow ended up in my mouth.  I actually swirled it around my mouth for a second or two, but then thought better of it, grabbed a napkin and spat it out.

But the taste of chocolate was in my mouth by now.  I hovered over the cake.  CAAAAAKE… I thought of Ally at Hyperbole:

But unlike Ally, who did everything she could to get cake, I resisted.  I ended up having to cook up a microwaved egg and gobbling it right there, to get the cake taste out of my mouth – but I’m so glad I did.  In the grand scheme of things, three eggs in a day is a small price to pay for avoiding chocolate cake… 😉

Oh, and? Down another kilo on the scales this morning, hurray! 🙂

    Hi Charlotte,

    Great news about your weightloss! Well done too for resisting that chocolate cake.

    I have a question – I’ve noticed lately that you haven’t been having the Oatbran/Flaxmeal Bread – is there are reason for this? I’m currently having a slice a day, split into 2 servings, I hope this is ok?

    • Hi Lesley,

      I’ve just not made any recently because I’ve been in the mood for porridge. Whatever happens, I tend to make either the bread or the porridge in three-day batches, so I’m committed to that length of time on one or the other.

      I’m enjoying the porridge very much right now – it was a staple of my diet back in my early days doing Dukan, and it’s totally yummy! It also means that I don’t have to blow a tolerated food (the Philadelphia cheese) on breakfast. 🙂

      It’s totally up to you how you do it, just do whatever works. How are you going so far?

    Hi Charlotte,

    Thanks for your reply. I started Dukan around November time – like you I lose a bit then have a relapse!!! I totally empathise with you with your ups and downs. Like you, I have been really good this week (another fresh start!) and so far have lost 3 lbs – yippee! Only 53 lbs to go. I did have the Porridge when I first started, but I wasn’t keen. I totally love the Bread so as long as I am losing weight I will carry on with it on a daily basis – I think it keeps my craving demons at bay – lol!

    • November would have been a really difficult time to start Dukan – I admire your courage! I’m starting to realise that a diet like this, where moderate exercise is so key (I guess it’s key with any diet though) the best time to start would be late spring – there’s enough light and warmth to get rid of any excuses to “not go for a walk.” Back in the middle of last year, I felt incredibly guilty if I DIDN’T go out for a walk of an evening. Over winter, I felt proud of myself if I managed it at all in a week… 😉

    your diary reads just like the old days – nice one mate…..
    im ticking along on CONS – relaxed a bit much at the weekend and banged on 5 feckin pounds!! sorted that out and am now back to my fighting weight!! its going ok. long may it continue – and long may your winning streak continue too.
