Boo Tesco! Yay Highland Game!

Very disappointed in Tesco right now.  They’ve stopped stocking my favourite product – Highland Game venison burgers: probably the lowest fat, lowest carb, tastiest meaty food out there.

I sent Highland Game an email asking, “what gives?” and they came back to say that Tesco were trying to drive the price down too much (greedy so-and-sos) and so they’d been forced to stop selling their product to them.

But then they also offered me some free samples from their online store, of their “Scottish slimmers” venison sausages (low fat, low carb sausagey goodness…)

So I’m driven to blog about it – yay Highland Game! Down with Tesco!

I have written Tesco a strongly worded email on the subject, and will strive to go to Sainsbury’s, Morrisons or the Co-op if I have the choice.

  1. Hey Charlotte! Just wanted to stop by and say hello… you are looking really great in your profile pic! Doesn’t it feel sooo good feeling lighter and healthier?

Charlotte – are you OK? Where’ve you gone? Previous silences have often meant a dietary tumble. If so, ‘fess up and get back into the saddle!

If it’s any consolation, I went to Berlin last week and ate cake and bread every day. It was GREAT (German bread rules) and I put on 5kgs effortlessly and shamelessly. Am now trying to curb my inner carb troll – it’s taken three days to poke him back into his cave, and it will take rather more to undo the damage.

Hope all is OK. Going to be in Edinburgh for August, staying in Bruntsfield, so I will look out for you on the Meadows!

    • Hehe… Yeah, I’m ok. I did have a little dietary tumble, but for the most part I’ve been SUPER busy! I’ve just started training for Roller Derby (which I really need to blog about) and I’m on a MASSIVE sewing kick – I’ve nearly finished my fifth dress in about 3 weeks. So I’ve not really been concentrating on blogging, and the exercise I get is intense and painful (Roller Derby is awfy painful in the beginning stages) plus my muscles are retaining water like crazy after the hell I’ve put them through over the past week…

Glad to hear all is good. Please do blog about Roller Derby – looks amazing, would be great to hear more (have you got a Roller Grrrl name yet?). With you on the sewing kick – two dresses and one skirt in the last month (not quite as MASSIVE as your kick, but nearly!).

    Hi Charlotte,

Marks and Spencer has a really amazing venison and red onion burger, that’s super tasty, and at the moment Marks has 3 meats for £10 which seems like a Dukan Dieters Dream. So you can get 4 of the burgers and some rump steaks, chicken breasts all for a £10. Loving the blog!

Miss your posts! Please do a periodic update! I am fascinated by your dive into the Roller Derby world – please do post about that!

    • Sorry Kristen! Roller Derby is awesome, but terribly, terribly difficult. I just came back from my second official training session, and am feeling a helluva lot better about it than I was last week.

    Hi there Charlotte,

Just starting my dukan journey and was wondering whether you are still on the diet – really enjoyed reading your blog up till now so wondering how things are going 😉

    • hi Rachel,

I’m still committed to continuing the diet, though I’ve not been following it very religiously lately – my life has been a bit topsy turvy recently (in a good way!) and I’m working towards settling back into a routine, which I’ll do after I get back from Paris next weekend.

      Good luck with yours! 🙂

      Charlotte.
