Day 9 – Cruise PP

Watercheck 1.6l including tea, diet coke and a gin and tonic

  • 45 mins walking around town running errands
I’ve had a far too busy day today to think about food – we went to the jewellers to see the wax model of the engagement ring, and then I ran errands all over town.  Home again briefly before heading to a meeting to talk about websites with the girls who administer the website for my roller derby league (they need a new one, and I’ll be putting it together for them.) Then back to my place with one of my new fellow web committee friends to make some much needed changes to their current website, and THEN I’ve been working on the new website solidly since then – a solid five hours work.
I barely noticed when J put a bowl of chicken down in front of me – I was bad and ate while working, but at least I was too engrossed to get up and have anything carby that might have been beckoning! 🙂
Roller derby practice tomorrow – and one of my other fellow web committee friends has lent me a set of “grippier” wheels like the ones I tried last night.  Apparently women of a larger frame have a lot of difficulty doing certain moves on skates when they’ve got slippy wheels on, so I’ll be interested in seeing how my progress goes tomorrow with these new wheels.

    I am from the States and want to know about gin and slimline tonic. Is it just gin with a diet tonic? Is it alcohol for lunch?


    • Hi Robin,

      Yep, slimline tonic is just diet tonic – for some reason they call it slimline here.

      And yes, I had alcohol for lunch. Like I said, it was a ridiculously busy day – the other girls at the meeting were having nachos of which I didn’t even eat a crumb, and it was at someone’s house so I couldn’t really ask for something more meaty. I’d not anticipated that the meeting would go on that late.

      It’s funny though, different people react differently to the whole no-alcohol rule in Dukan. Personally, I’ve found over the past year that so long as I don’t have sugary mixers with a little booze, then really, a glass here or there doesn’t affect my progress.

      But like I said, everyone’s different. Your mileage may differ, so be sure to factor any booze you have into your weigh-ins, and see what difference it makes. And obviously if it makes a big difference, then don’t do it! 🙂
