Day 8 – Cruise PV

Morning weigh in: 98.1kg

Daily GAIN: 0.2kgs / 0.4lbs
Total loss: 1.kgs / 3.74lbs

Watercheck 2.3l – sugarfree cordial, coffee

Breakfast

  • oatbran porridge
  • 3 microwaved eggs
  • yoghurt with rhubarb

Lunch

  • cauliflower rice with chicken (a double serve!)

Dinner

  • Chicken & vegetable soup
  • a slice of oatbran & flaxseed bread with extra light philadelphia cheese

Exercise

  • lots of housework!

A gain on the scales this morning – after all that exercise and a perfect protein day yesterday. Two explainations for that: too much fat in the meat at the BBQ yesterday, or the more likely option – my period tracker says I’m a day away from starting my Time of the Month. Β And I’ve hardly gone up at all – this is very unusual, I usually go up at least a kg in water retention, plus I chow down on Bad Foods uncontrollably.

But not this month – I have it under control this month. If all goes as it usually does, I’ll have barely any weight loss for a few days, and then a gargantuan WHOOSH if I can keep on with the diet properly.

    I was curious about the changes in today’s version of the cauliflower rice with chicken (compared to the other day) — anything different besides not adding bacon this time? How did the taste (e.g., saltiness) compare?

    • Hey Vicki,

      Yep, less bacon really lowered the salt levels – I needed to add more salt (I used Vogel’s Herbamare – a lovely vegetably herby salt) but it was still tasty. I ended up adding an entire head of broccoli too – I think my pre-menstrual body said I needed it. πŸ˜‰

      Basically my advice would be to use Pearly’s recipe as a starting point, and season to taste as required after you’ve mostly cooked it. I actually added a pinch of msg yesterday as well, to help bring out the flavours.

    Hang on in there Charlotte. I love your daily posts – they give me a real energy boost int he morning, so please don’t give up! For your sake and mine. I started last Friday (12th) and have lost 4.4 lbs so far.

      Thank for the lovely words. All seems to be going well right now – I’m not at all fussed by the jump on the scales – because like clockwork, my period started at five this morning. πŸ™‚

    I tend to avoid going any where near the scales during that week as not to bum myself out.

    • Hehe… I actually quite like knowing what my cycle does to things, all other things being equal. I tell you what though, this diet was stacks easier last year when I was on the Pill – I didn’t have to put up with monthly bother for about 18 glorious months. It’s taken me this long to learn to deal with the pmt and cravings again… Ugh.
