Day 19 – Cruise PP

Morning weigh in: 96.3kg

Daily GAIN: 0.2kgs / 0.44lbs
Total loss: 3.6kgs / 7.92lbs

Watercheck:  1.8l 


  • Mug of coffee
  • 3 microwaved eggs
  • Oatbran porridge with cinnamon


  • 5 gluten free cumberland sausages
  • Chicken nuggety bites (omg so full now!)

Afternoon snack

  • Fat free fromage frais with liquid sucralose and cocoa


  • packet of shop-bought chicken breast pieces


  • 25 mins cycling to and from work
  • 1 hr skating (during a two hour skating session – I spend half my time stretching, standing still practising stuff, so only 1 hour actual skating…)
  • 19 squats

I was a bit irritated at the Scales of Woe yesterday. And at myself. Note to self, skipping dinner and replacing it with beer and cider is not good.

However, I’m starting to see a pattern emerging – a five-day cycle (much like I saw this time last year) of losses, staying steady, then up again before another loss. Granted, 3 cycles hardly makes it a statistically significant pattern yet, but I’ll keep an eye on it. To see what I mean, have a look at the graph on my About page.

(and because I’m blogging from the future, I can say: there was a drop on the scales the next day. Only 0.3kg, but still the lowest I’ve been since my reboot – yay!)

    Another thing… I’m on my 5th ATTACK Day and want to do 10!!! I’m not sure if I’ve lost any weight yet, but feel already a lot better 🙂 I only have wheatbran at the moment. Do you think it will do? Will try and find oatbran in the week? Is it normal to feel a little weak from time to time? The past 4 days I’ve been fine though!!! Hopefully it’s a sign I’m in the right direction 🙂

    • Hi Robs,

      It’s normal to feel a little weak when your body’s first adjusting to the diet. However, I usually find that if I’m feeling weak, it’s time to get some veggies into me! If I were you, I’d stick with the 5 day attack – 10 days is really extreme, so unless you have 150lbs to lose or something, I’d avoid it.

      Wheatbran and oatbran are generally considered pretty different in terms of their properties. Oatbran is a really soluble fibre – it puffs up, makes you feel full, lowers cholesterol, and is tasty as! Wheatbran is really just something to keep your bowels moving – it’s nowhere near as soluble as oatbran. See if you can get hold of oatbran – you can purchase it online via Amazon, if that helps. 🙂

    I eventually found some in a health shop. Only problem now is that it’s tooooo tasty :-/

    • Hi Robs,

      Daily allowance is 1.5 tablespoons during Attack, 2 tablespoons during Cruise and 3 during Consolidation.

      Have you got the Dukan Diet book? It’s definitely worth reading! 🙂
