The Scales of Woe were being right bastards this morning – they were all over the place. They started out at 97.6kgs, which made me a bit irritated, given my perfect day (if anything too little food yesterday) and all that exercise at derby practice. So I gave them another chance, at which point they said 96.1kgs. By this stage, I knew they were playing funny buggers, so I did it one more time – 96.6kgs. Not one to tempt fate, I left it at that.

I’m having another PP day today to make up for the sugary blowout on Saturday night, then back to our regular programming from tomorrow. πŸ™‚

I’ve also been a bit stiff and sore today – lots of hard skating, I guess. I’m back to two practices a week, so that might start bringing about the aches and pains, at least until my muscles re-adjust. I’m also trying to remind myself that muscle pain contributes in no small way to water retention in the muscles. If that’s the case, I’ve got about half a litre in my groin/upper thigh. That bastard’s hurting like a mother ducker.

Also? A perfect PP day today. Feeling happy. πŸ™‚

  1. Wow, you’ve done a great job of bouncing back from the weekend — both in terms of your food intake as well as your exercise. Well done (and very impressive)! πŸ™‚

  2. Your Scales of Woe seem to need some serious talking to! πŸ™‚ In all seriousness, it’s strange that they are THAT much all over the place. Maybe they need a battery replacement, if they are digital? Or you could threaten them with a complete replacement and see if that makes them behave better …! [in the way that your hair always looks best the day you decide to get it cut, if you know what I mean]

    • Actually, you may be onto something there, Moonday. The Scales of Woe are being particularly woeful recently – I was up again by a pound this morning despite having a perfect PP day yesterday with lots of exercise.

I will replace the batteries and see what happens. We do have another set of scales in the house (when J and I moved in together, we seemed to suddenly have two of everything!) so perhaps I’ll start talking to them.

Thanks for the tip! I’d not even thought of that – and I call myself a techie! πŸ™‚

      Cheers,
      Charlotte

Keep going!!! this is a marathon not a sprint race… just keep it up and resist those buiscuits!!!
I have started recently 2.5 kilos in 10 days and i am not being 100% strict as i have little to loose (7 kilos) so if i cook with olive oil or have the occasional a glass of wine i dont mind, i look at it as slowing down the pace but the diet is working… at least i hope so!! but i read your blog daily for inspiration and you are doing a great job!!!
    You go girl!!
