Watercheck: Ā 2.7l – tea, coffee, low cal cordial & water


  • Mug of tea
  • 3 microwaved eggs
  • Oatbran porridge with cinnamon


  • Chicken salad


  • Bowl of chicken veggie soup, with a beef burger pattie and two slices of grilled bacon


  • 20 min cycle to and from work
  • Alas, I didn’t manage any other exercise today, was home too late.

Nice. Looks like the Scales of Woe are appreciating the new batteries, and are rewarding me accordingly. I’m feeling so much more on track. And thank goodness for my fromage frais! šŸ™‚

Bit of a stressful day today – they’re announcing redundancies at work, and I have a horrid feeling my role is one of the ones which is going to go. The bastards tell us about this today, and then don’t actually tell us whose roles are at risk until next Monday – so I’m turning into a serious stress monkey. I’m also going into major job hunt mode, to reassure myself that there’s lots of other opportunities out there in case they do can me. I really hate this. šŸ˜¦

But at least I didn’t let the stress get to me and start eating… yay.

To help me feel better, J and I went out to see Super 8 this evening – OMG totally fun! And a real early 80s film nostalgia thing going on. I loved it. Went in expecting a monster flick, not getting that it would be more like Goonies. šŸ™‚

Off to bed with me now. Cx

    • Eh, after having kinda slept on it, I think that perhaps this is just the kick up the arse I need to get myself out onto the job market again… šŸ˜‰

    As for me… ( u asked the other day) I’m did 8 days PP & yesterday on my PV, only ended up having a tomatoe with lots of protein. We celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday and had a VERY small portion of rice. It was the first time in 8 days I had “naughty” carbs šŸ˜¦ I’m so into this program & look forward to my pancake le Dukan šŸ™‚ I have notice some improvement… Finally can wear my watch & wedding band again & I feel good/better about myself šŸ™‚ Lots of love from Berlin xx

      That’s awesome that you can wear you watch and wedding band again – it’s such a great feeling when things that used to fit but didn’t, suddenly do again! šŸ™‚

  4. Charlotte, really well done not to let the redundancy announcement upset your progress. I know how shell shocked I felt when we were told our branch was closing. It sounds like you’re keeping on top of the situation and are prepared for whatever they throw at you. x

    Good luck on Monday Charlotte!! I’m sure everything will be ok or will turn out for the better!!
    One question about your menus, though… is bacon allowed?? i thought pork was not on the list…. and also, bacon has a lot of fat, no?
    I’m going to be “naughty” today as i have been invited to lunch and pasta is on the menu, but, i am not being to strict with some things as i only have 7 kg (well 5 now) to loose.
    From reading all of your blogs it seems that i am going so much slower than you guys… but your progresses keep me goint!! wohooo! šŸ™‚
    I am also writing a blog to keep track but doing it in Spanish…

    • Hi Slim,

      Apparently, in the American version of the book, lean bacon is allowed – if you cut all the fat off. At any rate, it doesn’t seem to affect me on the scales, so I’m going to go with it! šŸ˜‰

      If you only have 7kgs to lose, you’re going to go slower by default – but try not to think about it in “weight lost” terms – look at in “percentage to goal” terms, I bet you’ll be at consolidation way before I am! šŸ˜‰ There’s a column in the Progress Spreadsheet which can help you see it in “percentage to goal” terms.

    Great news on the whoosh, as for me, well my lady days arrived early so my unexplained gain is now explained. Still being good but during these days I want sweets things BAD! There is a muffin in my office that is staring me out. But I will win (also the act of telling you gives me more resolve to not cave). Going to lay off the weighing for until nature has done it’s thing,

    Also I bought two tubs of FF last night, man I went through it quick. Made a bit of a dip the other night…didn’t have have of the supplies but winged it and it was good. Think I will go for the garlic and chives next.

    • Hey babes!!

      It’s incredible, isn’t it, how just TELLING someone about the craving gives more resolve to not give into it. That’s why I set up this blog, and then set up the Twitter account to go with it, so I could chronicle things daily, but also tweet those little times where I was crazy-insane-dying for carbs.

      Garlic and chives dip – YUM! I think I need to do that too, maybe for tomorrow.
