Day 28 – Cruise PP

Morning weigh in: 95.4kgs

Daily LOSS: 0.5kgs /1.1lbs
Total loss: 4.5kgs /9.9lbs

Watercheck: 1.8l – water, diet coke, & tea


  • Mug of tea
  • 3 microwaved eggs
  • Oatbran porridge with cinnamon

Afternoon snack

  • 12 mini chicken satay sticks

Dinner (grazing throughout the evening)

  • Another 12 mini chicken satay sticks
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • Fromage frais with sweetener and cocoa
  • 1 carrot cake muffin – to test how they turned out, of course… πŸ˜‰


  • 1.5hrs gentle roller derby training
  • 28 squats
  • a whole stack of other strength work – leg lifts, yes-no’s, plank etc

I have some awesome news.

Absolutely amazing. Brilliant. Stupendous, even.

Today, I managed crossovers for the very first time at roller derby practice. All the Wise Owls (ie our coaches) were away in London for the big Edinburgh vs London match this weekend, so we had the whole practice to p!ss about on skates – it was brilliant. Noone yelling at me to do anything I didn’t want to do. OK, so it did make me less likely to push myself, but I DID learn how to do crossovers, by devoting the entire practice to it, under the tutelage of another fabulous skater, Bob. She rocks my world. And now I know what a crossover’s supposed to feel like, I can practice them ALL the time until I can get them EVERY time! Right now I probably manage it one attempt out of 2 or 3. And I can’t do them yet when concentrating on going fast, but I will.

My eating was a bit unstructured today – I had TWO packets of the mini satay sticks, one after practice in the car home (I was HUNGRY!!!) and one more kinda around dinner time. It somehow feels like I’m missing something, like I ate more than I’ve recorded here, but I can’t for the life of me work out what… It could just be that I’m feeling nice and full just now, and didn’t really eat THAT much today. I’m looking forward to a nice big salad tomorrow though, I can tell you! πŸ™‚

  4. Awesome news on the crossovers! I’d fall flat on my face or arse! What are chicken satay sticks… they sound yummy!


    • Hey Sandi,

      Chicken satay sticks are store-bought re-constituted chicken from Sainsburys. They’re actually surprisingly Dukan-friendly, for processed food. And very easy when you’re out and about.

      I’ve been toying with the idea of learning how to make them myself, but I’ve got so much on right now that I just don’t have the mental energy…

    Well done you! That’s amazing. So glad on the weight loss and crossovers. It’s great that you got some time to focus on what you needed to. Knowing that you can do it must boost you so much when going for it! Looking forward to seeing how you get on next week.

    Diet wise for me I had a rubbish weekend (damn those weekends), I was under prepared and overly rushed doing things that I had no option to go off diet. I did go overboard and I have nothing and no one to blame but myself. However I have set myself a goal. I need to hit my next half stone by the 16th. Which before the weekend would have been just the 7lbs although I was too scared to see what damage I had done this morning. Any way I have set that as my goal and have told family members too.

      Yeah, if you’re got a trigger like weekends, it can be tough. The toughest part is getting through the first couple, then it starts getting easier, I swear! Try this – text me any time you’re tempted by something off-plan, and I’ll text back words of encouragement! We can do this!! πŸ™‚

    Thanks sweetie. It’s just bad timing at the moment. I have a hen day/night this weekend, then birthdays and weddings and get togethers right up to the end of October. I’ll just have to try and limit myself so if I am going off track I am not diving in the deep end!
