Grr…

I’m sorry, no weigh-ins or blogging these past few days. I’ve had the double whammy of being off work sick, and of course the inevitable lady times… This has lead to a bit of naughtiness, I’ll admit. J and I had an indian the other night, and I’ve had the odd cookie and chocolate over the past couple of days. Bad girl.

But that all ends today. I’m back to being determined today. I had an OK day – I ate a good PP day, except for one stray Oreo biscuit. Back on things properly from tomorrow, including a good walk. 🙂

Day Four – Attack

Morning weigh in: 98.8kg

Daily LOSS: 0.1kgs / 0.22lbs (ok, no more peanuts for me, as promised.)
Total loss: 1.0kgs / 2.2lbs

Watercheck 1.8l coffee, coke zero & water

Breakfast

  • 3 microwaved eggs
  • oatbran porridge with sweetener & cinnamon

Morning snack

  • Chicken thigh pieces

Lunch

  • Chicken breast and thigh peices
  • fat free natural yoghurt with sweeteners
  • low fat cheese stick

Afternoon snack

  • a few bites of leftover chicken, which had gone cold, hard and chewy. Eww. I was nearly crying with frustration at how much I wanted a biscuit from the cookie jar at work. Resisted heroically, however. Yay. 🙂
  • a Skinny Cow hot chocolate

Dinner

  • 2 beef burghers
  • 2 jalapeno sausages (gluten free – lowish-carb)
  • TWO servings of stewed rhubarb & yoghurt. OM NOM NOM!

Exercise

  • 25 mins cycling to and from work
  • 10 mins brisk walking to the veggie shop to buy RHUBARB!
I know that I need to get more exercise than I’m getting right now. The weather has been AWFUL this week, but the forecast is better for today and the weekend. More walking – yay! 🙂

Day Three – Attack

Morning weigh in: 98.9kg

Daily GAIN: 0.3kgs / 0.66lbs (grr)
Total loss: 0.9kgs / 1.98lbs

Watercheck 1.8l coffee, coke zero & water

Breakfast

  • 2 microwaved eggs with half a slice of cheese
  • oatbran porridge with sweetener & cinnamon

Morning snack

  • 5 mini quiches (They froze well, Lauren. I had them thawing in my bag and just dumped them on a plate in the microwave. Had to drain off the liquid after heating, but they were quite tasty! Lots of envious comments from those in my office.)

Lunch

  • Taco mince with Total 0% greek yoghurt and a little salsa & low fat cheese
  • the other half of the tub of 0% yoghurt with some sweetener

Afternoon snack

  • a handful of peanuts (not strictly Dukan, but never hurt me before. If I’m not down on the scales tomorrow, I’ll not have any more.)

Dinner

  • chicken breast with a feta and spinach sauce. Not PP, I know, but I was out with relatives visiting Edinburgh briefly for the festival. And it was really tasty!
  • glass of wine (oops)

Exercise

  • 25 mins cycling to and from work
  • 30 mins walking to and from dinner with relatives – in the massive downpour of Edinburgh Summer Rain. Lovely.

Up this morning on the scales. I’m not panicking – I was down way too much the day before, I’m almost wondering whether it was a mistake. (Fingers crossed.)

Had a lovely dinner with my uncle, aunt and cousin, and J and I walked home through the rain. And it was – oh my GOD it was raining. Hard. I was wearing sandals, which I actually prefer in that kind of weather – I’d much rather get my feet wet directly on the skin than have a layer of wet shoe between me and the puddles. J didn’t believe me – he thought I was making it up so as not to let him feel smug when he’d warned me earlier about leaving the house in that weather with sandals (even though I’d deliberately changed shoes so that if my feet got wet, it would be sandals rather than trainers)

So, like I said, J wasn’t believing me, and so eventually I had to prove my point by folding up my umbrella and just letting the rain soak me to the bone. We walked for a little ways like this, with me wading through massive puddles (omg so much fun!) before J finally  grinned, muttered something like “OK, I’ll bite” and took his shirt off (I’m not sure I could have loved him more at this point!) We walked home like that through the park, in the dark rain – him barechested, me bare-footed, and arrived home absolutely sopping wet – to the point where we basically had to strip off just inside the door to keep from dripping all over the carpet.

Such fun.

However, in an effort to spite me, my body is now starting to rebel against my impromptu cold shower. The itchy throat that started out this morning is starting to develop into heavy, sore tonsils. *sigh*

Day 311 – Cruise PP

Morning weigh-in: 95.0kg

  • Total lost 17.3kg/37.06lbs

Watercheck – 1.5l – not enough!

Breakfast

  • Oatbran porridge
  • Mug of tea

Morning snack

  • Mug of coffee
  • chocolate shapes delight pudding (the sugar & fat free kind)

Lunch

  • 2 large chicken breasts dry-fried with nandos piri piri marinade and a little jamaican curry seasoning
  • 2 weight watchers fruit yoghurts (lower in carbs than even plain yoghurt – how is that possible?)

Afternoon DISASTER

  • CHOCOLATE BISCUITS!! EEK!

Dinner

  • 2 rashers of grilled bacon without the fat
  • 3 mini chipolata sausages (the Co-op ones are lowest in carbs)
  • 3 mini chicken kebab skewer
  • 4 gin and slimline tonics

Exercise

  • 25 mins cycling to and from work
I feel like a total failure today.  I’ve been sick the past couple of days (again?! All sorts of nasty bugs are making their rounds of the office) and congested sinuses don’t make me the best Dukaneer the world has ever seen.  I was doing well all day (apart from the choc pudding which is a little high in carbs, but I was sick) and then I was left by myself in the office.  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – solitude is an absolute trigger for me.  It had been a stressful, busy day at work where I felt like I was stretched thin (if only!) with the amount of people wanting some of my time –  and the triple whammy of being sick, being alone (so noone could witness my transgression) and feeling stressed, lead me to pig out on the biscuits in the cookie jar in the kitchen at work.
I’m not feeling up to walking this evening, even though it’s a gorgeous evening, which makes me feel even more like a failure.
Here is your cue to give me a kick up the arse.  Somebody, please, kick my butt for me! 😦

Cruise day 85 – PV

Morning weigh-in: 94.3kgs

  • Daily GAIN 0.4kg/ 0.88lbs
  • Total lost 18kg/39.6lbs

Watercheck – 2.4l

Breakfast

  • oatbran porridge
  • 2x microwaved eggs
  • Cup of coffee

Morning snack

  • 2x moist vanilla muffins

Lunch

  • 2x roast chicken breast
  • 1 vine ripened tomato

Afternoon snack

  • packet of smoky bacon potato crisps (seriously? yes. I blame it on the Snotmonster)
  • 1/4 apple, brought in fresh from the tree by our building manager at work as a gift for us – it would have been churlish to decline his kindness! 🙂 and they were delicious! And my body said “eat them, you need them”.

Dinner

  • stirfried chicken with pak choi and brocolli (yum!)

Exercise

  • 25 mins cycling to and from work
  • 40 mins walking to supermarket & back, where I bought:

Evening disaster

  • a chocolate bar and scoffed it on my way home.  It made me feel better, dammit! (while making me feel a little guilty too, but whatever)

Meh, up .4kgs.  We knew this would happen, me being the big ball of snot that I am just now.

Seriously.  You know it’s bad when you have to wipe snot off your hands when you blow your nose… (sorry, was that taking it a bit further than I should have on the whole sharing thing? 😉 )

I attempted to have a day right on diet, but what with the afternoon snack rampage, and the evening disaster, I don’t think I can claim the title of Model Dukanneer today.  Not to worry, all will be well eventually. I totally blame the snotmonster – I’m not sleeping well, and I’m not going to berate myself over a slight backslide.  If it continues tomorrow, then you’ll hear some self-flagellation.

In other news, it looks like poor J is coming down with this horrid affliction too…

Cruise day 84 – sick, normal PV-PP doesn’t apply!

Weigh in 93.9 – no change

Just a mini blog entry for Day 84.  I’ve been sick with this horrid headcold, so I didn’t stick to the diet – I did transgress a little, had some nougat and peanut butter with celery.  Oh, and some shortbread.  And I had vegetables when it should have been a PV day.  I managed over 2l of water, but most of that was No Added Sugar Ribena (Vitamin C, yay.)

I also didn’t even leave the house, let alone get any exercise – I could barely trudge to the loo, let alone go striding around on my lightning blue shape-ups.

So altogether, not a “perfect day” diet wise.

But guess what? I’m really not fussed.  I knew my weight would go back up again the next day, but through the snot-filled curtain of blarg, I couldn’t bring myself to care.  So I have a day or two of backsliding – that’s the beauty of this diet, it’s not hard to jump back on the wagon.

Give me a few day’s grace to get back on track properly, and I’ll be down in the 92s before you can say “atCHOO!”

😉
